Life Update: Real Life Responsibilities

For the first term of University, I lived an exceedingly charmed life. Essentially living and breathing as a pure Netflix watcher with the odd essay and lecture or seminar to go to. I knew this life would turn around at some point, and now the time has come. In the last couple of days, I have gone from lying in bed watching Netflix daily to being a student with responsibilities. Real life, oh my good god that's my job, responsibilities. I recently became Director of Marketing for my university's branch of Enactus, an international organisation based at universities world wide. And then, 24 hours later, landed myself a job at Starbucks.... Remember that 'curbing my coffee addiction' New Years Resolution? Well it failed miserably.

Last night I was thrown into the world of business by the Enactus President who asked me to go to a meeting in Canary Wharf. Of course I was ecstatic, but goodness gracious me was I terrified! There wasn't much time to dwell on it though, and this afternoon off I went with the lovely Ashleigh, who is Vice President and we soon found ourselves surrounded by men in suits and sky scrapers, a sure sign we were in the right place.

We took the plunge and in we went,  KPMG is one of the biggest auditors in the world and to say we felt a little out of our depth is putting it mildly. The meeting went amazingly though, and we couldn't help but celebrate with yet more coffee at Starbucks!

My life is about to get even busier, what with exams and essays, landing this Marketing Director jobby and now actually having a real life job. But I just wanted to update you all on my life and make sure you're fully aware I am still around! Between writing all of the cards I'm sending you (don't you worry they are currently being written as we speak and will hopefully be sent out next Wednesday), and fitting in university work, my life is at a super busy time! But Alice's Antics is 100% going to carry on stronger than ever and I have so many plans and ideas, it's just putting it all into practice!

I hope you all have wondeful weekends, I've got the sniffles!

Ciao for Now!

  4. Congratulations on the job! That's exciting! I've done the same thing this past year as well, though not in the same way, I was going between school and a job and now I've transferred to a new university! But I love reading your posts and seeing what your life is doing! So glad it's working out! :)
