Blogmas Day 24: Twas Christmas Eve, Babe

Christmas eve, aka the last day to rush madly around the shops and do some last minute (...or first minute) present buying. Most of you know by now I am pretty much a giant Christmas elf. I start celebrating the festivities from the minute Bonfire Night is over, and so it will come as no great surprise to many of you that christmas eve is one of my favourite days of the year. The festivities always overwhelm me on this day every year, it reminds me so much of being a little girl and not being able to sleep from the excitement of the next day and my family have our own little traditions which make Christmas Eve almost as special as the day which follows it.

We used to go to the cinema every Christmas Eve when I was growing up to watch a festive film but as my sister and I have gotten older we started finding more comfort in the prospect of sitting at home and watching a family film together instead! That's when you know you're getting old!

Unfortunately this year, both me and Sarah are working today! Between us we're working the whole day as she starts at 11 and ends at 6, and I start at 6 and end at 10, how unlucky! Fortunately we watched our Christmas film a couple of days early and although tonight we traditionally have a giant gammon, it looks like I'll be eating mine very late indeed!

I am so excited for tomorrow, I feel like a little girl again. I think there comes a point where Christmas stops becoming about the presents and starts to become about family and friends and just being together for the season- and of course, the food!

Today is  the final day of Blogmas. Despite my little lapse in the middle, I am actually rather proud of the progress and daily blogging I've done over the last month! I hope you've all been enjoying following me on the count down to Christmas! I will probably write a blog post on tomorrow (which should be out on boxing day, depending on my food coma) but apart from that I shan't be blogging too much over the course of the next week or so, I think most people will be concentrating on their own families and I will certainly be concentrating on mine!

Ciao for Now!

  2. What a shame about you both working! I'd love to be a giant christmas elf too but haven't been organised enough to have anything ready in time to be haha. I already feel like I'm getting old and I'm only 17!
