Blogmas Day 6: Sweater Weather Tag

This is probably the first tag of 2015, so I get an A* for originality this year, lasting all the way to December! However today has been such a chilled out day with the family and friends, eating and drinking and being merry. With two young'uns running around, the spirit of christmas was definitely all around. And unfortunately with all of the lovely family time partnered with the 'I'm a Celebrity' final, today I just couldn't face taking loads of photos. So hopefully this will suffice and give you a bit more of an insight into my Christmassy preferences!

1. What's your favourite candle scent?
This year after a little visit to Jo Malone, I'm officially in love with the Roasted Chestnuts candle this year. It's a christmas special so I headed straight over and now I just feel like I won't be happy until it's burning in my bedroom!

2. Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
This time last year I would have hands down said coffee. Without a shadow of a doubt, but after successfully weaning myself off caffeine over the last year, I no longer turn to a latte anymore and would rather have a green tea or earl grey but at this time of year a hot chocolate wins hands down. Extra points if it's with whipped cream and marshmallows.

3. Do you switch up your makeup routine for the season?
I actually tend to wear a bit more makeup at this time of year because there's so much reason to. Christmas parties, big days out, going from work to out means it's important to have a durable base. The turn of the season makes my skin dry out a lot so I put extra emphasis on my moisturiser and exfoliating, but I have to give most of the credit to the Estee Lauder Teint Idole foundation. Other than that, red lip and gold eyes go a very long way!

4. Hats or scarves?
Scarves for the majority of the year, hats at christmas time. If you're ice skating it's obligatory to wear a little bobble hat.

5. Favourite christmas food?
Stuffing. I love stuffing. Stuffing is a crucial part of the Christmas dinner. And failing this/in terms of dessert, gingerbread. I love ginger flavouring, the Costa christmas gingerbread muffins are a dream.

6. Most worn sweater?
Last year I bought a giant burnt orange high neck sweater from Next and it's an absolute dream to wear. It's so thick and snuggly it's like being constantly cuddled.

7. Must-have winter nail polish?
I'm currently not allowed to wear nail varnish due to my work, but I love a classic red nail. I recently bought the Essie A-List nail varnish, having been in love with Essie since I moved to Italy in January last year. As soon as I finish work on Friday for the month, my nails will be constantly coated in A-List but until then this will have to wait!

8. Favourite Autumn/Winter memory?
I couldn't fully tell you but Christmas Day I associate with having giant christmases surrounded with all of my family, and I honestly just love that. Christmas to me is all about family and we have a huge one with about 16 of us at my Aunty's and goodness me, we do Christmas well .

9. Boots or Uggs?
This is a non-question for me. Boots. 100%. I have about 6 pairs of boots but am one of those people of the opinion Uggs should not be worn outside of the comfort of your own home.

10. What is the winter weather like where you're from?
Britain has 4 very clear seasons and winter is wet, cold, crisp and sometimes a bit snowy. I love having a cold christmas, it makes the fire and hot chocolates just feel even more worth it. I don't think I'd be able to do Christmas in a hot country, it would just feel so unnatural being able to have a turkey on the beach!

I hope you've all had wonderful weekends!
Ciao for Now!

  1. I'm totally with you on the Ugg boots front! Also I am so impressed with your lack of caffeine consumption - I feel like that might have to be a new years resoultion for me..
